Building Confidence and Independence
in Emerging Adulthood
Young Adults aged 18-29
Helping You Discover Who You Are
Emerging adulthood is a developmental stage spanning roughly ages 18 to 29, marked by identity exploration, instability, self-focus, feeling in‑between, and a sense of possibilities. It is most common in developed societies where social and economic conditions delay traditional adult milestones. (Hey, that's us!)
Transitions in young adulthood can be both exciting and challenging. Entering the workforce, navigating college, branching out on one's own can be overwhelming. Today's young adults are navigating a world that is offering little support and a lot of challenges. While it can feel like it at times, this is not a hopeless and helpless time of life.
Therapy provides a safe, collaborative place to process changes and build skills to manage the pressures of this life stage. Focus on your personal agency and individual capabilities to develop practical tools to navigate adulthood with confidence and stability. Common issues include navigating independence, building life skills, and breaking unhealthy patterns.
